Karl August Esleeck was the 25th head college football coach for the University of Richmond Spiders located in Richmond, Virginia and he held that position for three seasons, from 1948 until 1950. His career coaching record at Richmond was 10 wins, 18 losses, and 2 ties. This ranks him 12th at Richmond in total wins and 22nd at Richmond in winning percentage.[2] He died after a long illness in 1952.[3][4] In 1977, Esleeck was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.
