Karin Jöns
Karin Jöns.
Karin Jöns (born on 29 April 1953 in Kiel) is a German politician and Member of the European Parliament with the Social Democratic Party of Germany, part of the Socialist Group and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Employment and Social Affairs.
She is a substitute for the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality and the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety. She is also a member of the Delegation to the EU-Kazakhstan, EU-Kyrgyzstan and EU-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Cooperation Committees, and for relations with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia.

- 1986-1987: International and European affairs officer in the state chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia
- 1987-1994: organisation and management of Bremen's office in Brussels for liaison with the European Union
- since 1973: Member of the SPD
- since 1998: Member of Bremen SPD Land Executive Committee
- since 1994: Member of the European Parliament
