Karin Housley (born January 20, 1964) is a Minnesota politician and member of the Minnesota Senate. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, she represents District 39 in the eastern Twin Cities metropolitan area.

Early life and education

Housley was born and raised in South St. Paul, Minnesota. She graduated from South St. Paul High School in 1982. She attended Augsburg College and later transferred to the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, graduating in 1988 with a B.A. in communication studies.[1]

Minnesota Senate

Housley ran unsuccessfully for election to the Minnesota Senate in 2010, losing to DFL incumbent Katie Sieben.[2] She ran again and was elected in 2012.[3]

Personal life

Housley married Phil Housley, a former American ice hockey player, in 1985.[1] They have four children and reside in St. Marys Point, Minnesota.[3] Housley is a real estate broker and hosts her own radio show.[1]
