Karima Francis is a Blackpool-born singer-songwriter.[1]

She is currently based in Manchester.[2] She was named by The Observer the number one act to watch in 2009.[3] After performing at In The City in Manchester, she was signed by the independent record label Kitchenware Records.[4] She signed with Vertigo Records, a division of Mercury Music Group, in 2011.[5]

She released her first album, The Author, on 23 March 2009,[6] to mixed reviews.[7] The record was produced by Kevin Bacon and Jonathan Quarmby.[8]

Her single, "Again", was single of the week on iTunes in March 2009.[9]

Her second album, The Remedy, was released in August 2012.[10]

Her single Glory Days was featured in the first episode of BBC drama Waterloo Road's eighth series on 23 August 2012
