Karel Zelenka (born March 31, 1983 in Louny, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech-Italian figure skater. He is a five-time (2003–2007) Italian national champion.

Biography

Zelenka was born in 1983 in Czechoslovakia. His father was also a figure skater and won a bronze medal at the Czech National Championships.[1] His family moved to Italy when he was six years old.[1] Zelenka received Italian citizenship in January 2006, in time for him to represent Italy at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where he placed 25th. He trained in Milan, Italy, and Oberstdorf, Germany.[2][3] His favorite skaters include Viktor Petrenko and Alexei Yagudin.[4]
