In her solo career, she has had two albums, her self-titled Kara in 2002, and Undisguised under Kara Williamson in 2005. In 2007, she released Learn To Fly with Rachel Hockett and Amanda Omartian as the trio Prelude.

Biography

Kara is the daughter of award winning composer Dave Williamson. As early as age four, she toured across the country with her family, The Williamsons. She began leading worship for her church youth group at 18.[1] In 1999, she performed with her siblings in the worship trio Three Strand. Her first solo album, Kara, is a mixture of pop, R&B, and dance music but as a worship album. It was produced by Christian dance-pop producer Pete Kipley who produced Plus One and Jump5, and the album could be compared to ones put out by artists he produced as well as ZOEgirl and Rebecca St. James, but is unique in its mixture of worship and pop-dance. Her second album Undisguised was still worshipful, but more pop-rock sounding such as Joy Williams or Rachael Lampa, as well as more open about her life.[2] Both records are also co-produced by Jeff Roach. She has recently joined with two of her best friends from school, Rachel Hockett and Amanda Omartia. The three "combines slick AC pop with '70s rock sensibilities and a dramatic, almost classical styled melody" and "blend inspirational lyricism with songs about overcoming personal struggle".[1] According to their site, they believe "Writing their own music provides them with the opportunity to speak into the listener about real life issues and how a relationship with Jesus Christ is the solution to life's questions." The night before Memorial Day, Kara and her siblings (Three Strand) released a song called Row Upon Row on YouTube and about a week later on iTunes remembering those who fought and died for the USA.
