Kapeeka is a town in Central Uganda. It is one of the urban centers in Nakaseke District.
Location
Kapeeka is located approximately 48 kilometres (30 mi), by road, northwest of Matugga.[1] This location is approximately 69 kilometres (43 mi), by road, northwest of Kampala, Uganda's capital city. [2] The coordinates of the town are:00 40 55N, 32 14 48E (Latitude:0.6820; Longitude:32.2465).
Overview
The Matugga-Kapeeka Road is a 42 kilometres (26 mi) road that links Matugga in Wakiso District to Kapeeka in Nakaseke District. The road goes through Gombe in Wakiso District and Semuto in Nakaseke District. The road will be upgraded from gravel to bitumen at an estimated cost of US$20 million. 65% of the funding will be provided by the Government of Uganda, while 35% will be provided by the Nordic Development Fund. The work will be carried out by China Tonguing International Construction Corporation (CICO). COWI, a Danish Consultancy firm will supervise the work. Construction is expected to be completed in late 2010.[3]
