Kanganpur (Urdu: كنگن پُور), is a city in Kasur District in the Punjab province of Pakistan.[1] It is part of Chunian Tehsil and is located at 30°46'0N 74°7'60E with an altitude of 177 metres (583 feet).[2]

Kanganpur is an important Historic Place. It has two main Tertiary i.e Kanganpur Village & Mandi. Kanganpur Village is old area arounded Polic station on hill & Mandi is new develped & Commercial area 1 km from old village. So now this whole area called "MANDI KANGANPUR"'' Kangan pur Become Munciple Committee in 2014

Location

It is about 64 kilometres (40 mi) away from Kasur, 42 kilometres (26 mi) away from world famous forest Changa Manga, and 115 kilometres (71 mi) away from Lahore the capital of Punjab Province.

It is frontier town adjoining with Indian city Firozpur from east and Okara from west.

History

This town is named on the sadpal's daughter whose name was Kangana. It was the time when The great warrior Muhammad Bin Qasim invaded Multan. At that time Multan was the capital of sadpal's Kingdom. Afterward Kangana accepted Islam, now her grave is in Burewala. Now that kanganpur is found on a hillock, consists on four palace. Kals, Mughal, Rathor and tudhi were lived here. The Rathor never change their faith as rest of them convert to Islam, and depart from Kanganpur and had gone to India. But four palaces now called by their names.
