Kandukuru is a town,mandal and municipality in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. Kandukuru has a historic background. In ancient days Ravana,the king of lanka has gifted this land to his sister(this saying came from ancestors) after that skandapuri which was renamed as kandukuru ruled during sri krishna devaraya.There are 20 villages under Kandukuru mandal.

Geography

Kandukuru (earlier known as Skandapuri) is located at 15°12′59″N 79°54′15″E / 15.2165°N 79.9042°E.[3] It has an average elevation of 13 metres (43 ft). kandukur road

Religious places

Though Hindus form the majority of the population, Muslims and Christians have substantial presence across the city and are predominant in and around Old City. Iconic temples, mosques, and churches and Baptist Home Mission, Mission Compound was established in 1918 are housed in the city. There are many mosques such as Jamia mosque, Makkah Maszid, Mohammadia etc., and churches like JD Bogesss Church and many more temples in the town. In 1990s Shirdi Saibaba Temple, Ayyappa Swamy Temple were built. Ankamma talli devalayam is the most religious place for Hindus.
