Kamareddy is a business centre in Nizamabad district in the Indian state of Telangana.
Geography
Kamareddy is located at 18°19′00″N 78°21′00″E / 18.3167°N 78.3500°E.[1] It covers an area of 14.11 km2. It is 110 km from the state capital of Hyderabad and 55 km from district headquarters, Nizamabad. However, Kamareddy comes under the Zahirabad parliamentary constituency. The population was 64,496 at the 2001 census.

Language
Major languages spoken in this area are Telugu (with Telangana dialect, major language), Hindi, Urdu, Lambadi and English.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Kamareddy had a population of 64,496. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Kamareddy has an average literacy rate of higher than 65%, male literacy is greater than 74%, and female literacy is more than 56%. In Kamareddy, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Economics
Kamareddy produces sugar, jaggery, different vegetables and turmeric. There are around 300 textile business centers.
Transportation
Kamareddy has two bus stands, and a railway station with connectivity to most major stations in Telangana State, and Mumbai. The railway line has converted to broad gauge under Project Unigauge.
