Kakinada Port railway station, a railway station located in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, serves Kakinada in East Godavari district, Kakinada Port and industries in the region. It is 13 km from Samalkot.

New station

Kakinada Port railway station was built at a cost of Rs. 50 million (50 million) and opened in 2011. Rs. 980 million (980 million) was spent in doubling the Samalkot-Kakinada line.[1][2]

Station category

Kakinada Port railway station is one of the eighteen 'A’ category stations in the Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway.[3]

New line project

Kakinada-Pithapuram line project was sanctioned in the Railway Budget for 2012-13.[4]
