Kadipur (Hindi: कादीपुर, Urdu: کادی پور) is a town and a nagar panchayat (tehsil) in Sultanpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Kadipur tehsil has 4 blocks: Akhand Nagar, Dostpur, Kadipur and Karaundi Kala.

Geography

Kadipur is located at 26°10′N 82°23′E / 26.17°N 82.38°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 90 metres (295 feet).

It is situated on the bank of Gomti River.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Kadipur had a population of 6795. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Kadipur has an average literacy rate of 62%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 69%, and female literacy is 55%. In Kadipur, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Two canals, "Sharda Sahayak Nehar", provide irrigation in the tehsil.
