Kadeisha Buchanan (born 5 November 1995) is a Canadian professional soccer player for the West Virginia Mountaineers. She is a member of the Canadian national team. She was 14 years when she was recruited to the Canadian youth program in 2010 with coach David Benning. ShE won a silver medal at the 2012 CONCACAF Women's U-17 championship in Guatemala

Playing career

International

Buchanan scored her first international goal against the United States on 8 May 2014 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in front of the second largest crowd to ever watch a women's soccer game in Canada.[1] The game ended in 1–1 draw.

Personal Life

Both of Buchanan's parents are originally from Jamaica, her father was born in St. Thomas, Jamaica while her mother is originally from Montego Bay. She grew up in the greater Toronto area, more specifically Brampton and Mississauga.Buchanan was one of twelve children. She was one of the youngest female soccer players to play on any women's national team. Kadeisha was enrolled in general studies. She made it to the Garret Ford Academic Honour Roll and The Big 12 Comissioner's Honour Roll. [2] Buchanan attends West Virginia University, where she plays collegiate soccer for the Mountaineers. During highschool, Buchanan was a full Canadian National Team Member. She attended Cardinal Leger Catholic Secondary School. Soccer wasn't the only sport she played, she also played flag football, volleyball, and basketball. [3]
