Kacper Piorun (born 24 November 1991) is a Polish chess Grandmaster (2012).[1]
Chess career
In 2007 Kacper Piorun won Polish Junior Chess Championship under the age of 16 in Łeba. In 2009 he take 3rd place in World Youth Chess Championship. In 2010 he won Rubinstein Memorial in Polanica-Zdrój. He has also competed successfully in several Polish Team Chess Championships.[2] In 2013 he won Polish Blitz Chess Championship in Bydgoszcz.
Kacper Piorun is excellent Chess problems solver. In 2011 he won individual World Chess Solving Championship and became an International solving grandmaster.[3] In 2012 he won team gold for Poland in World Chess Solving Championship in Kobe.[4]
Kacper Piorun played for Poland in European Boys' U18 Team Chess Championship:[5]
- In 2008, won team and individual gold at third board in the 8th European U18 Team Chess Championship (boys) in Szeged (+6, =1, -0).
- In 2009, won team silver at second board in the 9th European U18 Team Chess Championship (boys) in Pardubice (+2, =4, -1).
Kacper Piorun played for Poland in European Team Chess Championship:[6]
- In 2013, at fourth board (Poland 2) in the 19th European Team Chess Championship in Warsaw (+3, =5, -1).
