The KT postcode area, also known as the Kingston upon Thames postcode area,[2] is a group of 24 postcode districts in England which are subdivisions of 19 post towns. These postcode districts cover south-western parts of Greater London and northern Surrey.
Mail for this area is sorted at the Jubilee Mail Centre in Hounslow. In Greater London districts it covers most of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and the Hampton Court and Hampton Wick parts of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It covers small parts of the boroughs of Merton and Sutton. In Surrey boroughs it covers virtually all of Elmbridge and Epsom and Ewell, north-westernmost parts of Reigate and Banstead, north-easternmost parts of Guildford and Woking, the southern approximate half of the borough of Runnymede, as well as the Chertsey Bridge/Dumsey Meadow part of the Spelthorne and the northern approximate third of Mole Valley.
The majority of land, homes and business are within the M25 London Orbital Motorway.
