The KSU Convocation Center is the athletic department’s centerpiece on campus. The 4,600-seat arena opened in 2005 in Kennesaw, Georgia and is home to the Kennesaw State Owls' men's and women's basketball teams, the volleyball team as well as the athletic department’s administrative offices.[2]
It is also available for booking for external events, and has hosted concerts, conferences and trade shows, as well as sporting events.[3]
About
Located on the Kennesaw State campus across from Kennesaw Hall and the campus green, this spacious facility can accommodate more than 5,000 fans for concerts, seminars and other entertainment and business events. The facility has hosted numerous events including athletic competitions, competitive cheer events, youth camps, tennis events, college and high school commencements as well as other academic gatherings and trade shows.[4]
The KSU Convocation Center is not just the game day home to the Kennesaw State basketball and volleyball teams. The facility has state-of-the art locker rooms and team lounges for both the Owls. The student-athletes are in close proximity to the team video rooms and weight room as well as the coaching staff's offices and suites.
The Convocation Center also features a hospitality and pressroom for working media, the President’s Room that is located on the third floor of the venue and is used for hospitality on game nights.
The summer of 2012 was a time for many upgrades to the facility. A Daktronics video wall, ribbon board, and protables were installed to enhance game atmosphere inside the Convocation Center. The floor was also updated to reflect the new Kennesaw State athletics marks.
Among the celebrities who have been at the KSU Convocation Center in the venue's first four years are Sir Elton John, Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova, Andy Roddick, Anna Kournakova and Pete Sampras.
