KRTO (97.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an Old School Jammin' Oldies format. Licensed to Guadalupe, California, USA, it serves the Santa Maria-Lompoc area.

History

The station was originally a Spanish Pop station from 2006 to 2007, in which the call sign was retired. When San Luis Obispo retired country station COLT 97.1 in Summer 2008, Emerald Wave Media began transmission of Mega 97.1, an Old School and Funk station. It is considered a continuation of KPAT-FM from 1999 - 2004 where it was called as Mega 95.7 where it was owned by American General Media.

KRTO stands for "Concierto" which was the old Spanish Top 40 format station that was run by Emerald Wave Media. By 2007, Emerald Wave Media retired the station, and moved its Spanish station "La Buena" to the 105.1 FM frequency held by Concierto to obtain a cleaner signal towards the Santa Ynez Valley (La Buena interfered with the signal from Ventura's KFYV-FM 105.5 FM). Since 2008, Mega 97.1 FM has been on the air with its current Oldies format. The station earns moderate ratings, despite its low advertisement output.

Some on air talents include Chad & Andy in the mornings, Christina Martinez in the afternoons, Computer Love Sundays through Thursdays (From 10 to midnight) and Club Mega Mixshow Fridays & Saturdays (From 10 to midnight).
