KJJL (540 AM) was a planned radio station scheduled to serve Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, USA. The construction permit was held by Timothy C. Cutforth.[1] KJJL would have broadcast an oldies music format to the greater Cheyenne, Wyoming, area.
History
This station received its original construction permit from the Federal Communications Commission on July 28, 2005.[2] The new station was assigned the KJJL call sign by the FCC on August 19, 2005.[3] KJJL's construction permit was scheduled to expire on July 28, 2008.[2]
The station applied for a license to cover on August 1, 2008, but citing significant technical deficiencies in the belated application the FCC ultimately dismissed the application on February 19, 2009, and the station was deleted from the FCC database.[4]
Legal action
Station owner Timothy C. Cutforth filed a Petition for Reconsideration on March 23, 2009.[4] After finding that Cutforth "failed to complete Station construction by the July 28, 2008, construction deadline" and improperly filed the application for a license to cover, that petition was denied on June 19, 2009.[5] On July 20, 2009, Cutforth applied to the FCC for a review of the application.[5] As of August 9, 2009, this application is still pending.
