KFRM (550 AM) is a radio station licensed to Salina, Kansas, USA, but broadcasts from studios in Clay Center, Kansas. The station is currently owned by Taylor Communications.[2][3] Due to its low position on the dial, KFRM enjoys a wide coverage area, blanketing most of Kansas and surrounding states during the day.
History
The station was assigned the call letters KNNN beginning on 1986-01-06. On 1986-11-04, the station changed its call sign to KICT and on 1987-10-19 returned to the current KFRM, the call letters the station had used for years when it was a major regional country music station.[4]

History of call letters
The call letters KFRM were previously assigned to an AM station in Concordia, Kansas, which began broadcasting December 7, 1947, on 550 kHz with 5 KW power. In a first-of-its-kind arrangement, all of the station's programming originated at KMBC in Kansas City, Missouri.[5]
