KESTOS

Kestos is a British lingerie ^[1] brand founded in London in 1925 by the Polish-born designer Rosaline Kiln.^[2][3] Kestos major innovation^[4] to the feminine underwear in the 1930s was the development of the two separate cups model.^[5][6] Rosaline Kiln, director of the Kestos Corset Compagny, started experimenting with a pair of hankies, just like Caresse Crosby^[7][8] back in 1913. Kestos bra was the first commercially produced brassiere that had two distinct and defined cups^[9] and "the Kestos" became a generic trademark bra.^[10][11][12] Kestos is distributed in the US,^[13] UK, Canada, Australia, France as well as some other European countries^[14] and was popular through the 30's, 40's and into the early 50's.^[15]
