KCC Malls is a chain of shopping malls originated in Koronadal City, South Cotabato, Philippines.[1] It is owned by Koronadal Commercial Corporation and their headquarters is situated in General Santos City. KCC has presently two operating malls in General Santos and Koronadal. It is considered as one of the major mall developers in Mindanao (the other being NCCC Malls, which is based from Metro Davao in Davao Region, KCC Malls' base neighbouring region).
History
KCC started in 1951 as a textile store in Koronadal City. It then expanded in 1989 into a supermarket and department store as KCC Shopping Center. In 1992, KCC opened its first store in General Santos City called KCC Warehouse Plaza, which was later renamed as KCC Mall of Gensan in 1996.
After four years, KCC Shopping Center expanded into KCC Mall of Marbel.
KCC Mall of Gensan is located at J. Catolico, Sr. Avenue, Lagao, General Santos City. It has a total floor area of more than 80,000 square meters and 200 tenants. On June 29, 2013, KCC opened its newest mall called Veranza, adjacent to the KCC Mall of Gensan.[2] This "green" designed mall will also house various local and international brands, world-class restaurants, an al fresco dining strip area, and entertainment area.
The success of KCC Malls, being at par with other major malls, led to its expansion outside SOCSARGEN with the groundbreaking of its newest mall in Zamboanga City in October 10, 2012. On-going construction began on November 2012 and will be opened on Summer 2015.
