KBKW (1450 AM) is a radio station licensed to Aberdeen, Washington, USA. The station is currently owned by Jodesha Broadcasting, Inc.[1]
History
The station originally signed on in 1949 as KBKW. The calls represented the founder, Ben K. Weatherwax. Mr. Weatherwax was part of a prominent local family, and was the first full-time radio newsman in Southwest Washington, employed at KXRO until the launch of KBKW. In later years, the calls changed to KAYO, with a change to a country music format. On 1995-04-28, the station reverted to the current KBKW, and the sister FM retained the KAYO calls.[2]
Current programming
KBKW currently carries Doug McDowell's CoffeeTalk, the area's only long-form local morning talk show, Doug Stephan, Michael Medved, Andrea Tantoros, Kate Delaney, Jerry Doyle, and Michael Savage.
