KBC Advanced Technologies plc (LSE: KBC) is an independent provider of consulting and software services to energy and other process industries. Headquartered in Walton on Thames in England, the company has fourteen other offices worldwide, with major operations in Houston and Singapore. KBC is a public company listed in the London Stock Exchange.
The company was founded in 1979 by Krikor Krikorian, John Brice and Peter Close; its name is formed from the initial letters of their surnames.[3]
Software Products
KBC has developed many advanced software for simulation and optimization. Petro-SIM is the flagship software for simulation of hydrocarbon processes, and is applicable throughout the value chain from upstream/midstream to downstream and petrochemicals. Over the years, the company has also obtained many software products through acquisitions of other strong companies in the industry. These include: SuperTarget and Pro Steam from Linnhoff-March.,[4] Multiflash and FloWax from Infochem Computer Services Limited,[5] and most recently, Maximus from FEESA Ltd.[6]
Consulting Services
KBC Advanced Technologies provides technical consulting services primarily to the hydrocarbon processing industry. The company provides capital expense consulting, and process improvement services, including clean fuels programs, design services, oil storage optimization, and loss control services. KBC also provides in-depth strategic analysis of all aspects of a company's oil refining, petrochemical, or processing businesses to find opportunities to improve operational efficiencies. The company's extensive global base of customers includes Huntsman, Husky Energy, Reliance and Petrobras.[7]
