Jyllian Gunther is an Emmy-award winning director,writer, and producer. Her most recent documentary, "The New Public", was critically acclaimed and aired on PBS in 2014. It was released by Kino Lorber films on DVD and VOD in 2015 and is available on Itunes, Netflix, Amazon, and other online platforms. Her first documentary, Pull Out, was an official selection at numerous festivals, nationally and internationally. She won an Emmy award for her work as director/writer/producer on a PBS educational public service announcement series. Most recently, she was supervising producer/director on multiple episodes of the Emmy-award winning show, 'Who Do You Think You Are". Also for PBS, she directed and produced a series of mini-documentaries for the series Design Squad, and was director on multiple episodes of their Emmy award winning series Postcards From Buster. For radio show This American Life, she was reporter and co-producer on the episode “Kid Politics.” Other TV director/producer credits include: Discovery's "A Crime To Remember", TLC's "Four Houses", MTV’s MADE, The N’s Love High (an original pilot), TCM/ITV’s Meet the IN-Laws TLC/New York Times television’s BodyWorks, for which she was post producer and more. She worked for the past 15 years as a freelance producer/writer for WEtv, AMC, IFC Nickelodeon, Oxygen, The N, and more. She began her career as a staff writer for Nickelodeon. Previously, she worked as a public and private school educator in film, art, and creative writing. She runs the production company Wonderful6,Inc.
