Julie Bentley

Julie Bentley is a British voluntary sector leader and since 2012 has been the Chief Executive of Girlguiding.[1] Since taking on this role she has launched the 'Be the Change' campaign in association with petition platform change.org. As at November 2013 there were 50,000 girls on a waiting list to join a Girl Guide group Julie Bentley has called for more volunteers - "I don't want [girlguiding] to be a secret, because we want and really need more volunteers to come and join us so we can meet the growing demand." [2]

Julie Bentley is a former chief executive of the Suzy Lamplugh Trust and the Family Planning Association. She has also worked for ARP (Addiction Recovery and Protection]] and is a previous chair of the Greater London Association of Alcohol Services. She is also a trustee of housing charity Shelter and young people’s helpline ‘’Get Connected’’.

In April 2014, she was named as one of Britain's most influential women in the BBC Woman's Hour power list 2014.[3]
