Jugurtha Hamroun (born January 27, 1989 in Bouzeguene) is an Algerian professional footballer who plays for Romanian club Oțelul Galați as a midfielder.

Personal

Hamroun was born in the town of Bouzeguene in the Tizi Ouzou Province. At age 5, he moved with his family to France, where they settled in Neuilly-sur-Marne in the eastern suburbs of Paris.[1]

Club career

EA Guingamp

At age 12, Hamroun was recruited to the junior ranks of EA Guingamp.[1] On April 8, 2008, Hamroun signed his first professional contract with EA Guingamp for 3 years.[2][3][4][5] On August 29, 2008, he made his Ligue 2 debut coming as a substitute for Cédric Liabeuf in the 83rd minute in a league match against CS Sedan.[6]

Chernomorets Burgas

In July 2011, Hamroun signed a three-year deal with Bulgarian side Chernomorets Burgas, joining them on a free transfer after his contract with EA Guingamp had expired.[7] For six months with the blue shirt he scored 6 goals in 14 matches in the A PFG.

Karabükspor

On January 18, 2012 he was sold to Turkish side Karabükspor for 600 000 .[8] Hamroun made his team debut on January 21 against Trabzonspor.

International career

On December 22, 2009, Hamroun was called up to the Algerian Under-23 National Team by head coach Abdelhak Bencheikha for a week-long training camp in Algiers.[9] In October 2011, after scoring 4 goals in 8 games in the 2011–12 A PFG, Hamroun was recalled to the Under-23 National Team by Azzedine Aït Djoudi after an almost two-year absence.[10] On November 15, 2011, Hamroun made his debut for the Algerian Under-23 team as a second half substitute in a friendly against South Africa.[11] On November 16, 2011, he was selected as part of Algeria's squad for the 2011 CAF U-23 Championship in Morocco.[12]
