JoyTunes is a privately held company developing music learning solutions and apps. The company specializes in creating iOS apps that automatically detect notes played on real musical instruments, providing instant feedback to the users.[1]
JoyTunes incorporates gamification dynamics along with traditional music methods to encourage music practice and improve sight reading and rhythm skills.[2]
Apps
Piano Dust Buster (iOS) is a gamified introduction to piano, released in 2012, boasting tens of millions of songs learned.[3]
Piano Maestro, formerly Piano Mania (iPad), released in 2013, is an educational practice motivation iPad app. Piano Maestro includes public domain songs as well as licensed content and piano methods from known publishers, such as Alfred's Premier Piano Course.
Recorder Master (PC, Mac, iPad) – JoyTunes’ first game, released in 2010, for children learning to play the recorder instrument.
Recorder Express (PC, Mac) – Recorder game based on the content of the Recorder Express method book by Artie Almeida, in cooperation with Alfred Publishing.
