The Journal of Human Evolution is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering physical anthropology, palaeolithic archaeology, primatology, geochronology, palaeoecology, and palaeoecological and palaeogeographical models of primate and human evolution. It was established in 1972 and is published by Elsevier in print and online on ScienceDirect. The editors-in-chief are Sarah Elton (Durham University) and Mike Plavcan (University of Arkansas).
