José Alfredo Castillo Parada, nicknamed "El Pícaro" (born February 9, 1983 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra) is a Bolivian football striker who is currently playing for Guabirá in the Liga de Fútbol Profesional Boliviano.

Club career

His beginnings date back to 1991 when he enrolled in the prestigious football academy Tahuichi.[1] Then, first division club Oriente Petrolero acquired his rights in 2000. In 2001 he helped the club win a championship by scoring a total of 42 goals with only 18 years of age.

He signed Estudiantes Tecos in the summer of 2002. Castillo remained with Tecos until May 2004, when he was loaned out. During the following years, he had brief spells with several clubs around South America including Rosario Central of the Argentine Primera, O'Higgins in the Chilean league, Atlético MG from the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and Oriente Petrolero for the second time around. He would also played for Bolivian side Bolívar in three different occasions.

In 2009, Castillo joined Hong Kong First Division team South China on trial. In January 2010 he signed a one-year contract with hometown club Blooming, scoring 26 goals scored in 44 games. In December 2010 Tecos decided to include him back in the first team roster and Castillo returned to Mexico, but only after six appearances he was loaned out to Bolívar once again.

National team

Castillo has been capped for the Bolivian national team 22 times, scoring a total of 6 goals in international competitions.
