Jorge Armando Pérez is a Cuban humanitarian, author and evangelist.[1] He has written more than 20 books[2] under the psydonym of Jorge Armando Pérez Venâncio, taking the second last name of Venancio, in honor of his grandfather Francisco Venancio.

Early life

J.A. Pérez was born in a small village by the name of El Gabriel,[3] in the province of Havana, Cuba. The oldest of three brothers. His father Armando Pérez Martín a Radiologist and his Mother Teresita Juana María Hernandez an English teacher and controller for an American tobacco company.

Due to his twin younger brothers health problems (being in and out of hospitals in his early years, young J.A. spent most of his childhood years under the care of his maternal grand parents Francisco Venancio Hernandez and Hilda Alfonso.

Early influences

J.A. was influenced greatly by his grandfather Francisco,[4] whom in the village was known by Pancho el Largo (en: Large Frank). Francisco was a tall man, born and raised by monks in a monastery in the Canary Islands.[5] He would read an old Nacar Colunga bible to his grandson and many short story books. By the time J.A. was five years old, he knew all of the Aesop Fables[6] by heart.[7]

Humanitarian work

His organization brings humanitarian campaigns to countries in Latin America. His team includes medical professionals, family counselors and volunteers. Recent Humanitarian Festival in Costa Rica. Republic of Joy. They called the festival "Republic of Joy",[8] Reports and Publications of Completed Humanitarian Missions City of Machala, Ecuador 2013.[9][10][11]

His festivals take place at stadiums or plazas where during the day ten tents around the venue attend to every need with on-going educational workshops. Platforms with cultural presentations take place in the form of arts, theater, and music. In every festival Pérez speaks to the audience. Every night at the festival a concert takes place.[12][13]

In 2014, Pérez and his team held the Republic of Joy Festival in the City of Turrialba in Costa Rica with an attendance of over 18,000 people. Teams of medical doctors, dentists worked during the day at the Rafael Ángel Camacho Cordero Stadium helping low income families and a team of BMX professionals participated on the Extreme Sports side of the event. Republic of Joy was cover by national and international media and news networks such as CBN News[14] and Charisma News.[15] Other Mass Concentrations this year include a project covering the cities of Corail, Beaumont and Roseaux in Haiti, where J.A. Pérez joined forces with the Luis Palau Association also featuring a city-wide concert by the Reggae group Christafari.
