Jordan Schmidt is a music producer, engineer, mix engineer, and songwriter. He has produced, engineered, mixed and/or written tracks for Motion City Soundtrack, One Ok Rock, All Time Low, Quietdrive, and many others. He resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
Early years and personal life
Jordan Schmidt was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on February 26, 1988, to local musicians Mark and Tammy Schmidt. He was drawn to music at an early age, picking up the guitar when he was 10 years old, and started recording local artists at the age of 16. In 2006, Schmidt moved to College Park, Maryland, and was an assistant to Matt Squire.[1] Shortly after, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he recorded bands such as Motion City Soundtrack, Quietdrive,[2] Sing It Loud,[3] You, Me, and Everyone We Know, Jamestown Story, Paradise Fears, Take Cover, and The Role Call.[4] Schmidt has also co-written many songs licensed to popular TV shows, such as NCIS: New Orleans, Hart of Dixie, Catfish, Jersey Shore, The Biggest Loser, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, The Real World, Dr. Phil, Snooki & JWoww, Battle Creek, and a MasterCard commercial.
In 2012, Schmidt moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he and his brother Dane Schmidt founded WeVolve Music.[5]
In 2015, Jordan Schmidt signed with Tree Vibez Music, a publishing company started by Brian Kelley and Brian Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line.
Style
Schmidt is best known for producing and writing pop-rock music. He works very closely with his artists and is known as a very hands-on producer who often makes musical and lyrical suggestions. Schmidt also co-writes with many artists and writers.
