Jordan Charles Clark (born 22 September 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays for Shrewsbury Town, as a winger.

Career

Barnsley

Clark won Barnsley's 'Most Promising Academy Player' award for the 2009–10 season,[2] and signed a scholarship deal with the club in July 2010.[3] He signed his first professional contract in March 2011, alongside Danny Rose.[4] He made his senior debut for Barnsley on 12 April 2011, in a 0–1 defeat at home to Queens Park Rangers.[5] On 11 September 2012, Clark signed a contract with the club, keeping him until 2014.[6]

On 22 February 2013, Clark was loaned out to Chesterfield on a one-month.[7] Clark made his Chesterfield debut the next day, coming on as a substitute for Neal Trotman in the 80th minutes, in a 1-0 loss against Gillingham.[8] Clark made another appearance, playing 90 minutes, in a 0-0 draw against Aldershot Town before being recalled by the club on 26 March 2013.[9][10]

On 2 August 2013, Clark was loaned for the second time this year by joining Scunthorpe United on a month loan.[11] Clark made his Scunthorpe United debut the next day, coming on as a substitute for Andy Welsh in the 88th minutes, in a 2-0 win over Mansfield Town.[12] Clark then returned to his parent club on 11 September 2013 after making one appearance at Scunthorpe United.[13]

In February 2014 he joined Hyde on another loan deal.[14] Clarke made his Hyde debut, coming on as a substitute for David Poole in the second half, in a 4-3 loss against Lincoln City.[15] Weeks later on 22 February 2014, Clark then scored his first professional career goal, in a 2-2 draw against Aldershot Town.[16] Clarke made sixteen appearance for Hyde, but was unable to help the club survive relegation.

Clark was released by Barnsley at the end of the 2013–14 season.[17]

Shrewsbury Town

Following a trial spell, he then went on to join Shrewsbury Town on 17 July 2014.[18] The move saw him reunited with ManagerMicky Mellon when they were at Barnsley.[19]

Clark made his Shrewsbury Town, making his first start in the opening game of the season, in a 2-2 draw against Wimbledon.[20] A few weeks later on 30 August 2014, Clark scored his first goals, in a 2-0 win over Luton Town.[21] His goal against Bury, which saw him "superb angled volley" earned him Shrewsbury Town's Goal of the Month competition for October.[22][23] However, his playing role was soon reduced in the second half of the season and was mostly on the substitution bench around that time.[24] The reminder of the season saw Clark regain his first team place. Clark then provided a double assist, in a 5-0 win over Exeter City on 11 April 2015.[25]
