Jorabat is a village, suburban fringe and a junction which covers area under both Ri-Bhoi district, Meghalaya, India and Kamrup Metropolitan district, Assam, India, with greater parts in Kamrup Metropolitan district of Assam in the Northeastern part of India.[1] The main attraction of this place is that it is a place where we may find people of all communities of India living in harmony and peace which is hard to find in the rest of North east India where hostilities between various ethnic and religious group is a common scenario. A majority of the people living in Jorabat are businessmen. The Nepalese and Bihari constitute a majority in the Area whereas Assamese, Khasi, Bengali, Punjabi,Garo and Muslims(by community as they identify themselves) constitute a minority.

- Tinali Junction- This place is the point where the National highway number 40 (NH-40)starts and continues upto Jowai via Shillong and also it is here that National highway number 37 (NH-37) takes a sharp left turn towards Upper Assam when observed by a person travelling from Guwahati to Jorabat.

Geography
It is located very near to the city of Guwahati, Assam in Kamrup Metropolitan district.[2]
Location
National Highway 40 links Jorabat to Jowai via Shillong.[3] National Highway 37 passes through Jorabat and connects parts of upper Assam with Guwahati city.[4] Jorabat is divided into two parts former is in Meghalaya and latter is in Assam.[5]
