Jon Bakhshi

Jon Bakhshi, widely known as Jon B., is an American nightclub owner. He opened the Manhattan, New York City nightclubs Home and Guest House in 2005, and he closed them five years later. In 2008, he opened Greenhouse, a supposedly eco-friendly nightclub.[1]

Notable establishments

Bakhshi established Home and Guest House on West 27th Street, in Chelsea, Manhattan,[1][2] a neighborhood which also hosted many other New York nightclubs. Guest House offered an alternative for the crowd with techno and house music.[3][4] It differentiates itself from Home by offering visitors Victorian decor accentuated with dim amber lighting and hardwood floors.[3] The U-shaped venue provides a more intimate environment for those seeking a relaxed experience.[5]

In November 2008, Bakshi opened Greenhouse, which claims to be New York's first eco-friendly nightclub.[6] Located at 150 Varick Street in SoHo, Manhattan. Greenhouse features hick bamboo walls, LED lighting, sustainable uniforms for employees, wind-generated electricity, waterless urinals, and vodka served in recycled bottles.[7] The bi-level design allows the club to cater to various crowds, with hip hop and rock music playing downstairs and house and mash-ups upstairs.[8]

In October 2009, Bakhshi opened the Juliet Supperclub, a "Mediterranean Nights"-themed restaurant/lounge located on 539 West 21st Street in Manhattan.[9][10]
