John Burns Smith, more commonly known as Johnny Smith, (1922–1974) was a notable New Zealand baker, rugby player, soldier and sportsman. Of Māori descent, he identified with the Nga Puhi iwi. He was born in Kaikohe, Northland, New Zealand in 1922.[1]
