John Spencer "Johnny" Merriman, Jr. was an American football coach in the United States.
Coaching career
Merriman was the head college football coach for the Coast Guard Bears located in New London, Connecticut. He held that position for 16 seasons, from 1930 until 1945.[1] His coaching record at Coast Guard was 46 wins, 66 losses and 9 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2010 season, this ranks him #1 at Coast Guard in total wins and #7 at the school in winning percentage (.417).[2]
