John Pullinger

John James Pullinger, CB (born 1 June 1959)[1] is the Chief Executive of the UK Statistics Authority, National Statistician and Permanent Secretary.[2] He has been in this role since 1st July 2014.[2] Prior to this he was the Librarian of the House of Commons[3] and the President (2013-4) of the Royal Statistical Society.[4]

He was educated at Alleyn's School, Dulwich, the University of Exeter and Harvard Business School.[4]

He was a statistician in the Central Statistical Office and the Office for National Statistics, finally Director of Social Statistics, 1980–2004, before becoming the Librarian[4] and head of the office of statistics at the House of Commons.
