John E. Peterson (born September 25, 1948) was the sixth head football coach for the Frostburg State University Bobcats in Frostburg, Maryland and he held that position for four seasons, from 1977 until 1980. His overall coaching record at Frostburg was 14 wins, 25 losses, and 0 ties. As of completion of the 2007 season, this ranks him eighth at Frostburg in terms of total wins and eighth at Frostburg in terms of winning percentage.[1]
