John Orlikow is a Canadian politician. He was elected to Winnipeg City Council for the River Heights - Fort Garry ward in a by-election on March 17, 2009.[1] Orlikow had previously been a trustee for the Winnipeg School Division since 1998,[2] and held that post until resigning to run in a March 17, 2009 by-election to fill the vacant post of the late Councillor Brenda Leipsic. His opponent in the by-election was Geoff Currier, a host on the city's talk radio station CJOB.[1] Orlikow was re-elected in the 2010 election, beating Michael Kowalson, with 55% of the votes. However, voter turnout was only 22%. In the 2014 elections he was again re-elected, winning 55% of the votes, this time beating Taz Stuart.

Born in Oakville, Ontario, Orlikow holds a degree in conflict resolution from Menno Simons College.[3] He is the son of Lionel Orlikow, a former Winnipeg school board trustee, and the nephew of David Orlikow, a former federal Member of Parliament.[4]

In another by-election held on the same day, his former seat on the school board was won by Rita Hildahl.[5]
