John Granara is an American attorney who is the former chief legal counsel to the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office. He served as Special Sheriff of Middlesex County, Massachusetts following the resignation and suicide of Sheriff James DiPaola.[1] Granara had been the chief legal counsel to the Middlesex County Sheriff's Department since DiPaola took office in 1997. Granara was a coordinator for DiPaola's 1996 election campaign.[2]
