John F. Kennedy High School is a high school located in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States.
History
The school opened in October 3, 1963 as John H. Kinzie High School. In 1965 its name was changed to the present name in honor former President John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated the year of the school's founding.[1]
Academics
Kennedy is an Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) school. It follows the Illinois standards for education and also has a large special education department with about 100 students. Kennedy is a part of the International Baccalaureate Program.
