John F. Kennedy High School is a high school located in Cheektowaga, New York, in the United States. It is purported to be the first public school in the United States to be named for a sitting President [1962].
Academics
Offers many classes in many subjects. Spanish, French, English 9, English 10, English 11, English 12, AP English, Earth Science, Living Environment, Chemistry, Physics, AP Bio, Integrated Science, Business Math, Integrated Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 and Trig, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, Health, Physical Education, Global 1, Global 2, Honors Global, AP US History, AP Government and Economics, Government and Economics, Mixed Choir, Women's Choir, Band, Jazz Band, Studio in Art, Studio in Drawing and Painting, Advanced Studio in Drawing and Painting, Studio in Advertisement and Design, Studio in Digital Photography, Creative Crafts, Media (seniors). Keyboarding, Sports Management, Food and Nutrition, CAD, DDP, Juniors and Seniors can take classes at Erie 1 BOCES for college credit. They can go to either Erie 1 BOCES Harkness, or Erie 1 BOCES Potter Road. History
John F. Kennedy High School was formed in 1962. It would later be named for President John F. Kennedy, the first school to do so.[2] Until 1997, the middle school grades were housed in the high school until the district formed the new middle school.
