John D. Dunne
John D. Dunne is an Associate Professor in the Department of Religion at Emory University.
Dunne went to Amherst College and received his Ph.D. in the Study of Religion from Harvard University. According to his faculty profile, his work "focuses on Buddhist philosophy and contemplative practice, and he is a co-director of Emory's Collaborative for Contemplative Studies as well as the Encyclopedia of Contemplative Practices. His current research focuses especially on the concept of 'mindfulness' in both theoretical and practical contexts."[1]
Dunne is the author of Foundations of Dharmakīrti's Philosophy, part of Wisdom Publications' "Studies in Indian and Tibetan Buddhism Series," a study of the thought of the important 7th century Buddhist philosopher Dharmakīrti.[2]
