John Boyd (actor)

John Boyd (born October 22, 1981) is an American actor.

He is best known for his starring role in Season 8 of the series 24. He also starred in the Academy Award winning film Argo (2012) and, as of 2014, stars as FBI Special Agent James Aubrey on the long-running Fox series Bones, beginning with the show's Season 10.

Early life

Boyd was born in New York City, New York on October 22, 1981. He is an alumnus of Bennington College.^[1]

Career

Boyd began his acting career in 2005, appearing in short films and various minor roles in film, guest starring on an episode of Law & Order in 2005; Boyd returned to the show in 2006 but as a different character. In 2010, he was cast in his first starring role on television during the eighth season of Fox series 24. He starred as Arlo Glass for the final season of the series.

Following the cancellation of 24, Boyd guest starred in Suits and was scheduled to be cast as Todd in a new Fox pilot Iceland in 2011, though the show was not picked up by the network. Boyd appeared in the 2012 Academy Award winning film Argo, alongside Ben Affleck and Bryan Cranston. In 2013, he guest starred on the short lived Touch, which reunited Boyd and Kiefer Sutherland.

Starting with the tenth season of Bones in 2014, he began starring as FBI Special Agent James Aubrey. He was credited as a special guest star during the season premiere and began starring as a main cast member for the second episode onward, following the departure of John Francis Daley's character from the show at the end of the season premiere.
