John Bowers QC is the Principal Elect of Brasenose College, Oxford.[1]

After education at Matthew Humberstone School in Cleethorpes Bowers studied Law at Lincoln College, Oxford.[2] He was called to the Bar in 1979, took silk (became a Queen's Counsel) in 1998, became a Recorder in 2003, and has been a Deputy High Court Judge since 2010.[2] He has written extensively on law, and is an honorary professor at the University of Hull.[3]

John Bowers will take up his new post on 1 October 2015, when Professor Alan Bowman retires.[1]
