John Arundell (of Lanherne, died 1590)

Arms of Arundel of Lanherne, Cornwall, later Baron Arundell of Wardour: Sable, six martlets argent. These are early canting arms, based on the French for swallow hirondelle. They were recorded for Reinfred de Arundel (d. circa 1280), lord of the manor of Lanherne, Cornwall, in the 15th-century Shirley Roll of Arms

John Arundell (by 1527-90), of Lanherne, St. Mawgan-in-Pyder, Cornwall, was an English politician.

Marriage and Issue

John Arundell was married to Ann Stanley, widow of Charles Stourton, 8th Baron Stourton, and daughter of Edward Stanley, 3rd Earl of Derby.[1]

Career

Arundell was a Member of the Parliament of England for Helston 1545, Shaftesbury 1547, Preston 1555 and Cornwall 1558.[2]
