John Angerstein (MP)

John Angerstein (c. 1774 – 8 April 1858)[1][2] was an English Whig[3] politician from Blackheath.[4]
He was one of the three people nominated in November 1829 to be the High Sheriff of Kent in 1830,[5] but the King appointed Edward Rice.[6]
He was elected at the 1796 general election as a Member of Parliament (MP) for borough of Camelford in Cornwall. He held the seat until the 1802 general election,[1] when he did not contest Camelford.[7]
He was elected at the 1835 general election as an MP for Greenwich,[4] having contested the seat unsuccessfully in 1832.[8] He did not defend his Greenwich seat at the 1837 general election,[8] when he stood in Eastern Surrey, but did not win a seat.[9]
