John Albert (born January 19, 1989) is an American professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing under contract with the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 6th round (175th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Albert was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but grew up in Concord, Ohio.

Playing career

Prior to turning professional, Albert played NCAA college hockey with Ohio State University.

On July 20, 2011, Albert signed on to play in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the St. John's IceCaps for the 2011–12 AHL season.[1]

Albert scored his first NHL goal on December 2, 2013 against Cam Talbot of the New York Rangers, one day after being recalled by the Winnipeg Jets, it was also his first shot on goal in the league.[2]
