Joel Fafard

Joel Fafard (born November 18, 1968) is a Canadian finger-style and slide guitarist from Saskatchewan. He now lives on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia.

Fafard has released three instrumental albums, leading to a Western Canadian Music Award and a Juno nomination. On his latest album, Cluck Old Hen he finds his niche as a blues vocalist through covers of traditional southern blues songs.

Fafard studied guitar with Jack Semple and music at Capilano College in British Columbia, and was a member of the Manitoba-based band Scruj MacDuhk.

Fafard's received a Juno nomination in 2007 for his album Three Hens Escape Oblivion. This album won Outstanding Instrumental Recording at the 2006 Western Canadian Music Awards. Cluck Old Hen which was released October 12, 2010, is his sixth album, and his first vocal album since 2001.
