Joe Powers
Joe Powers is a harmonicist noted for his harmonica playing and performances.[1] He performs several music genres, such as classical, hip hop, jazz-fusion and world traditions,[1] and specializes in playing tango music with the harmonica.[2] Powers started playing the harmoinca at two years of age, and majored in music composition at the University of Oregon.[3] He has travleled to many countries to perform his music,[1] and has been characterized as a “virtuoso.[2] In 2005 he won a prize for his work at the quadrennial World Harmonica Championship in Germany, and at a Belgian competition in 2008 he won the classical division.[4] Powers resides in Portland, Oregon.[4]
